TOPIC: Moda Titanium 2015 road bike

Moda Titanium 2015 road bike 1 year 11 months ago #8262

So due to a carbon frame failure I'm in the fortunate place to spend some insurance money on a new bike.
Unfortunately there's a limited range of bikes in the deal, however amongst the range I've found a titanium Moda Nocturne 2015 road bike with SRAM.
Mods is not a brand I'm familiar with, does anyone have any thoughts?

Wol used to ride a Moda, before he got the Bianchi, he may be able to assist with an opinion?

Mark, as with any bike it's always the same. TEST RIDE if you can. If you are thinking of Titanium then there are a lot of options. JD Cycles in Ilkley stock a few different brands and have bikes to test.

Titanium is often talked about like some wonder material for bikes but done wrong it can be seriously harsh to ride.

Also have you ridden Sram? I can't stand the stuff. I know a lot of people who think it's great but if you've been running shimano you could find the change annoying.

Thanks Al, I have a cunning plan to test a couple of bikes (Wols fault) but I'm limited to the range I can choose from as I get more payout from the insurers with one one supplier. The titanium is off the table due to stock but not off the table in the future.
The bikes lined up are the specialised roubaix, cannondale synapse, lapierre pulsium, giant defy and Scott solace. I'm taking other business to the LBS as I need wheels rebuilding, but I can't ignore the £600 extra.
